ジャズ・クルセイダーズがバンド名からジャズを外して単にクルセイダーズと名乗ったのは71年のこと。それにともなって、ジャズ・バンドはファンキーなフュージョン・バンドへと衣替えした。ラリー・カールトンやデヴィッド・Ｔ・ウォーカーらがゲストで参加していた時代のことだ。そのあとクルセイダーズはもう一度衣替えして、よりポップなバンドへと変身する。そのきっかけとなったのが79年に発表した本作。
それまでインストゥルメンタル一本槍だったクルセイダーズは、このアルバムで初めてヴォーカルを加えた。ランディ・クロフォードの歌をフィーチャーしたタイトル曲がそれで、この曲はシングルでも発売され、ヒット・チャートにも入った。この成功を踏まえその後、『ラプソディ&ブルース』ではビル・ウィザース、『スタンディング・トール』ではジョー・コッカーのヴォーカルをフィーチャーしたが、それらの原点になったのが本作。クルセイダーズの新しい歴史は本作から始まったといっていい。（市川正二）
