　どうでもいいことですが；1967年に発表した「この素晴らしき世界」のシングルが68年に入って注目され、春に漸くNo.1になったので、これを入れるために68年7月に急遽作った、というのがこのアルバムです。そのせいか、このアルバムにはちょっと寄せ集めっぽい印象があると思います・・・。
　サッチモにジャズとポップスのどちらを求めるかは人によって違うでしょうけど、どちらにしても、このアルバムは初めに聴くアルバムでないと思います。「この素晴らしき世界」を聴きたければ、ちゃんとベスト・アルバムを買った方がいいと思います。
　ちなみに僕のお勧めのサッチモのアルバムと言えば "Ella And Louis"と"Satch Plays Fats"です。

この曲は、天国への旅立ち一年前、Bob Thiel による企画で <<Satchimo and His Friends>>版に収録された内の曲であり、ほんの数枚の CD にしか見いだせない希少曲です。
歌うのもやっとの体調状態で、まさに最後の記念すべき録音といえます。
ピ-ト・シ-ガ-もいいですが、聴いてください　"サッチモの魂の叫びといえるボ-カルを”、感動はじわ-っときます。

「What a Wonderful World 」コマーシャルで一躍有名になった
サッチモが歌うこの曲。心に沁みる歌声ですね。
