８０年発表の６作目。ビートルズっぽい曲を演奏するグループというとビートルズのパロディ・グループだったラトルズが有名ですが、いかにもなジャケットを冠したユートピアのこのアルバムも大変素晴らしい似非ビートルズぶり(ｗ　を披露しています。前作で確立された究極の３分ポップ・ミュージックを掘り薦めるためか、ビートルズっぽい曲を一曲作ってみたら、盛り上がってしまって全曲ビートルズっぽい曲だけでアルバムが完成してしまった・・・という作品で、楽しくて仕方がないという雰囲気が全体からヒシヒシと伝わって来ます。初期から中期までの曲調がめいんになっています。ビートルズっぽいけど本質的にはユートピアの音だってところがミソ。ユートピアとしても絶頂期の作品であり、パワー・ポップという側面だけでとらえると前作、本作、８２年の「ＵＴＯＰＩＡ」がベリー・ベスト。押さえておきたいアルバムです。

全てのビートルズ・ファン必携のパロディ・アルバム。
あの天才メロディ・メーカーであるトッド・ラングレン率いるユートピアが
制作した、驚異のビートルズ・パロディ。全曲が完全オリジナルなのにも
関わらず、どれもビートルズの「あの曲」の匂いがする！！
似てるけど違う、違うけど似てる。そんなアルバムです。

正直、オリジナルを超えちゃってるかも…という曲さえあります。

　当初のユートピアは、トッドが、ソロでは表現しきれないブリティッシュ・プログレへの憧憬を、優秀なメンバーとともにバンド形態で追及するために結成したユニット、と個人的に思い込んでいた。
　しかしその後、音楽は大きく変貌し、結局のところ、トッドの個人的な嗜好を体現する友達バンド、というのが正体だったんだな、と四半世紀を過ぎて、思うようになった。
　ユートピア＝キーボード・プログレ・バンド、というイメージを持っている人には、今回のようなビート・ポップ風の音楽は辛いだろう。
　一方、初期キンクスやザ・フーなど、ブリティッシュ・ビート・ファンなら、それなりに楽しめる内容と思う。
　各楽曲タイトルの日本語訳は、かなり頑張ってビートルズのパロディ風味を出そうと心がけている。努力賞ものです。
　帯には、発売年が1978年と記載されているが、1980年の誤りでしょ。
