改めて思いました。このアルバムがDAVE MATTHEWSの最高傑作だと！「CRUSH」が今まで一番だと思っていましたが、やはりライブで盛り上がる曲ばかり入っているのはこっちかなと思いました。とにかくどの曲もメロディーがいいです。アコースティックギターにサックスやフルートが絡むという独特のスタイルですが、聴き慣れてくるとこれが癖になってしまうんですよ（笑）。「The Best of What's Around」,「 Satelite」,「Ants Marching」,「 Lover Lay Down」この4曲が私は好きですが、それ以外の曲もいいんで、お薦めです。なぜ日本でブレイクしないのかな？

日本での知名度はあまり高くはないようですがアメリカではかなりの人気です。どのアルバムもいいのですがやはりこのアルバムが一番！白人２人、黒人２人で構成されているこのバンドスタイル。サウンドにも十分いかされています。デイブの弾くアコギも最高です。あまり他にはないバンドなので是非聴いてみてください！来日したらあまりブレークする前に行きましょう。比較的好条件で見れます！

Dave Matthews Bandのファーストアルバム。アコースティックギター、ベース、ドラム、バイオリン、サックスで作られています。とてもシンプルですが、奥の深い作品です。Dave Matthews Bandのエッセンスがぎっしり詰まってます。聞いてて飽きません。特にフロントマンのDave Matthewsのギターは聴きごたえがあります。これほどアコースティックギターを独特に使いこなせるプレイヤーはちょっと他では見れませんね。中味がスッカスカのエレキや音楽機械に飽きた人は是非どうぞ。ちなみにこのアルバムには彼らの名曲である「Ants Marching」が入ってます。
