歌に対して魔法といったらおかしいかもしれませんが、Ｓａｒａｈの歌声には本当に心を無の状態にしてくれる不思議な力があります。どんな心の状態の時に聞いても、聞き終わる頃にはいつも、優しい気持ちになれます。物事がうまくいかなくて心に余裕の無い時、私はいつも彼女の歌に助けられています。気負いしすぎず、ほどよく力を抜けばいいんだ、と。このアルバムの後に聴くＬＩＶＥ版アルバムのMirrorballもまた最高です。素晴らしいです。オリジナルとは違った歌い方をいつもＬＩＶＥでしてくれてそれがまた、本当に美しいのです。人間の持つ闇の部分を否定せず、そこにある美しさを歌に出来るＳａｒａｈの歌に私はますます引き込まれていくことでしょう。

'97年にリリースされた紛れもない名盤。Carol Kingの"Tapestry"と肩を並べうるほどの作品と思っています。
メロディに恵まれた個々の曲の完成度、緻密でありながら適度に抑揚をきかせたサウンド、そしてときに崇高にも聞えるSarahのヴォーカルの持つ説得力。どれをとっても隙がなく、一枚のCDにこれだけの情感と説得力を盛り込んでしまったことに脱帽の思いです。
イントロからいきなり引き込まれる"Building a mystery"をオープニングに、"Adea"、"Angel"など美しく流麗なメロディが神秘的に彩られながら続き、クラシックの素養もあるという彼女の柔らかく包み込むようなヴォーカルに浸っているうちに、いつの間にかインストの終曲"Last Dance"。Sarahが弾くピアノが虚空に流れる頃にはすっかり心を奪われ、奥深い感動の余韻に包まれている自分に気付きます。
本作と出会ってもう７年になりますが、ずっと身近に大切にしている作品の一つです。

彼女の情熱的な声は聞くものを感動させる。彼女の見所はそこだけではない。演奏するピアノも聞くものを惹きつける魔力を持つ。特にTRACK10の歌なしの曲「LAST DANCE」は、涙が出るほど感動させられる。最初から最後まで癒され続ける。彼女のハートが直接に聞くものに訴えかけてくる。映画「シティ　オブ　エンジェル」で流れた「ANGEL」とか最高としか言いようがない。是非このサラ・マクラクランの音楽をあなたのものにしてほしい。落ち込んだ時や癒されたい時にお勧めです。ノラ・ジョーンズとかヴァネッサ・カールトンとか好きな人はいいかも！
