　1979年リリース、1979年といえばELOやサタデーナイトフィーバーやアバなどディスコダンス路線がヒットしていた時期で、そのような時勢に合わせた見事な作品だと思う。ただ「狂気」や「原子心母」のエンジニアを務めた人の音楽なので、一聴するとポップだが実は様々な加工が施されている。1曲目の「ルシファー」は重厚感があり、アルバムのオープニングにふさわしい見事なゴージャスなインストだと思う。83年のベスト盤では「アイロボット」を蹴散らしてこの曲がベスト盤に収められている。「アイロボット」をより上品にしたリメークととらえてもいいのかも、この曲は日本の自動車のCMにも使われたらしいが、当時小学5年生だった僕は、この曲が青空と雪山を背景にした自動車CMでこの曲が使われていたようなうるおぼえの記憶がある。（間違いかも）本作でもおなじみのクリスレインボーやレニーザカテクなどボーカリストが活躍しているが、目玉はフロイドの「狂気」にも参加していた女性ボーカルの「願い」だと思う。最近なぜかデニーレインとともにライブを行ったアランが「自分の音楽が流行から外れてしまった」と弱気なことを言っていて驚いた。本作を出していた頃の強気な発言を考えると非常な寂しさを感じてしまった。ぜひとももう一度大当たりをかまして「ライムライト」の歌詞のようにカムバックしてほしい。

1979年リリース。総合プロデュース、アラン・パーソンズ。エクセキューティヴ・プロデュース、エリック・ウルフソン、オーケストラル・アレンジメント、アンドリュー・パウエル。そして曲毎にボーカリスト他メンバーを様々に変える『アラン・パーソンズ流』が確立したアルバム。カバー・デザインはらしくないがヒプノシスである。(意外!)（●＾o＾●）
1979年でありながら既にコンセプトはロック・ミュージックを音楽理論でよりインセンティヴにしようという姿勢が随所に感じられる。アラン・パーソンズは総合芸術を目指していたなぁ、と思える。どの曲も考え抜かれて作曲されている。叉、前作1978年の『ピラミッド』と双生児のようなアルバムであると思う。

今なお、日々の疲れを心の奥底から癒してくれる力を持った名盤だ。（●＾o＾●）。

１９７９年リリース。個人的に数十年放っておいたアルバムで、今回真っ当に初めて聴きました・・・ベスト等で何曲かは、聴いた事がありましたが。私にとって一番好きなＡＰＰは前作「ＰＹＲＡＭＩＤ」なので、どうしてもそれと比較してしまいますね。基本的にコンセプトの形はとっている模様ですが、非常に弱い印象を受けます・・・タイトルからイメージ出来るものが、日本人のせい故に無いというのかなあ。サウンドとしては、前作を踏襲しているので安心して聴く事ができますが、すっきり整理した内容に仕上がっています。アランパーソンズ＆エリックウールフソンを核に、デヴィットペイトン（Ｂ／Ｖｏ）・イアンベアンソン（Ｇ）・スチュアートエリオット（Ｄｒ）のパイロット隊、ダンカンマッケイ（Ｋｅｙ）が参加・・・レズリーダンカン・クリスレインボウ・デイヴタウンシェンド・レニーザカテク・クレアトーリー（ＦＥＭＡＬＥ）がボーカリストとしてクレジットされています。そのスタイルからかプログレ寄りに語られますが、実際は印象的なメロディラインを配したポップな音楽性なので、大変聴き易いプロジェクト（バンド）です・・・アランパーソンズのプロデューサーとしての、まさに手腕といって良いでしょう（後の大ヒットは周知の通り！）。おおっジャケットは、”ヒプノシス”・・・どうりで印象に残るよなあ！！
