   1986年制作のジェニファー・コネリー主演映画のサウンドトラック盤。デヴィッド・ボウイがもっこりタイツを穿いてジム・ヘンソン制作のマペットたちと踊る作品だが、ボウイ流にゴスペルを解釈した「Underground」、涙ナミダの名バラード「As The World Falls Down」など、ナメてはいけない隠れた秀作。ボウイがマペット達や赤ちゃんと共演する「Magic Dance」など、映画サントラならではのナンバーも。『ノッティングヒルの恋人』『ラスト・オブ・モヒカン』で知られるトレヴァー・ジョーンズによるスコアも収録、映画と共に楽しみたい。（山崎智之）

懐かしいアルバムです。高校生の頃、擦り切れるほど聞きました。
他の方のレヴューで、国内版ＣＤがない、と書いていらっしゃいますが、これは事実と異なります。東芝ＥＭＩから96年に発売(CP32-5155)されておりました。
また、同じ方が歎かれている「歌詞」の件ですが、たしかにこのＵＳ版ＣＤには歌詞がついておりません。ですがWeb上にはBowieの歌詞はその多くが無料公開されております。ご興味のある方は、bowie lyrics dadabaseあたりのキーワードで検索を。このアルバム全ての歌詞を見つけられましょう。Madic Danceにいたっては、国内版歌詞カードには無い、歌い出しの前の台詞部分まで知ることが出来ます。
個人的には、このアルバムはAbsolute beginnersと並ぶ、Bowieの名サントラです。長くこのアルバムが聞き継がれることを祈りつつ。

このサントラのDVDやっと出たじゃないですか~
DVDを見たら思わず買ってしまいました。
思い出せばこの映画を見たのは中学生の頃・・・ビデオで何度もみてサントラもレンタルしてテープが擦り切れるほど聞いた覚えが・・・
懐かしさいっぱいで購入してしまいました。
音楽を聴いてるだけで映画の場面が浮かんで来てGood!です。いいモノはいいです！

　ファンには間違いなく★★★★★の名サントラです。とにかく、この映画で「映画の楽しさを知った」という人や「デヴィッド・ボウイを好きになった」という人の多いこと！ボウイとジェニファー・コネリーの美しさ、素晴らしいマペット、分かりやすいストーリー・・・などなど、当時子供だった人には「最高のファンタジー」だったはずです。ミュージカル風の映画でしたので、このサントラで映像まで思い出せるという熱狂的なファンという人も多いでしょう。ボウイの当時の新曲も5曲入っています。
　古くからのボウイのファンには今ひとつ人気がないですが、"As The World Falls Down"にしても"Underground"にしてもなかなかいい曲だと思います。平均したら★★★ぐらいかなぁ。
