…え？　これってポール・マッカートニー！？

エミット・ローズの曲を聴いた人は、誰しもがそう思ってしまう。
その声、そのメロディ、そのアレンジ。マジカルでドリーミーでポップ。
どこからどう聴いても「ポール」って感じ。

だけど当の本人は熱心なジョン・レノン崇拝者だったりする。
でもやっぱり音はポール色。

買って損ナシの名盤。

メリー・ゴー・ラウンド解散後、元ミレニウムのカート・ベッチャー＆キース・オルセンのサポートで完成されたエミット・ローズの１ｓｔ（１９７０）。
驚くべきは全ての楽曲を、宅録・多重録音で、全ての楽器もこなしてしまうというマルチな才能。
ピアノとベースが中心となる楽曲進行や、その歌声はたしかにビートルズ（ポール）を彷彿とさせます。彼が熱心なビートルズファンだったことも確かなようですが、メロディーメーカーとしての彼の功績には再度注目すべきでしょう。
いろいろな聴き方があると思いますが、極上のポップスであることは間違いなし。
代表曲「Fresh As A Daisy」(恋はひな菊)収録です。
