多くのサントラに登場し、多くのアーティストと比較されたプロディジー。
「音楽の原点は創造にあり」を強く実感できるアルバムに仕上がっている。
単純な音のループではなく、多くの音源を重ね合わせた重厚なビート。
この１枚を知っているだけで、音楽の幅が大きく広がること間違いなし。

サンプリングを多様していた前作に比べ生ドラムやギタ−を前面に導入したりと、ＲＯＣＫ+ＴＥＣＨＮＯとの融合を目指した実験作。また、先行シングルカットされた「ＦＩＲＥ　ＳＴＡＲＴＥＲ」がヒット、ＵＫチャート１位になり一気にトップア−ティストへと上り詰めた。本作はライヴを想定して作られており、マキシムとキ−スのヴォーカルも圧倒的に増えている。この二人のコントラストは、ヴォーカルスタイルの違いや佇まいなど、あらゆる意味でＰＲＯＤＩＧＹの武器となっている。あの、凄まじいライヴを経験済みの方なら解ると思うが。そして、そのドラムンパンクとでも言ったら良いだろう楽曲を作り出す天才ＤＪ、リアムの事も忘れてはならない。彼はあくまでＤＪ、職人なのである。後続組が彼等を未だ超えていないのはバンド的なアプロ−チに固執してしまい、リアム独特のＤＪならではの自由奔放な作曲方法を真似出来ないからであろう。「ＳＭＡＣＫ　ＭＹ　ＢＩＴＣＨ　ＵＰ」「ＦＵＥＬ　ＭＹ　ＦＩＲＥ」（Ｌ７のカヴァー）などに到ってはインダストリアルチュ−ンと称しても問題はないであろう激しさを持っている。さらに「ＦＵＮＫＹ　ＳＨＩＴ」「ＦＩＲＥ　ＳＴＡＲＴＥＲ」「ＢＲＥＡＴＨＥ」といった曲が持つ、外向きのアグレッシヴなヒップホップ感も特筆すべき強みであろう。「ＳＥＲＩＡＬ　ＴＨＲＩＬＬＡ」は、ＲＡＧＥＡＧＡＩＮＳＵＴＯ　ＴＨＥ　ＭＡＣＨＩＮＥのトム・モレロがギターで参加したテイクもあったらしいが未収録。もったいぶらず出せってば！！本作がミュ−ジックシ−ンに与えた影響は計り知れない。間違いなく、時代を動かした名盤である。

Ｍ-2breathを聞いたとき、凄まじい衝撃を覚えた。「exhale!exhale!exhale!(吐き出せ)」というボーカルの体の奥から吐きつけられた言葉には麻薬的な作用がある。「踊る大捜査線」のＢＧＭで使われていたＭ-8firestarterもドラマを見る前にこの曲を聞いていればおそらく体中に衝撃が走ったことであろう。またＭ-1smack~でも「オレの性悪女に平手打ちを！」と毒吐きまくりなところに中東を思わせる「あ~あああ~」と女性の（心の)叫びがすごくマッチしていた。
