ブリーダーズのメンバーにして、スローイングミュージズを
率いていたタニヤ・ドネリーが93年に新たに結成したバンド、
ベリー。唐突ですが、僕はタニヤの声が大好きです。どこか
頼りなく、線の細い声が、フラフラと宙に舞っているさまを
なんとなく想像してしまうのです。本作は、フォーク的でい
ながらもどこか不安定で危ない綱渡りをしているかのような

バンドサウンドが楽しめます。所属を転々としながらようや
く理想の場所を見つけたタニヤの第一歩。そんな彼女の生き
生きとした魅力に詰まったアルバムです。

９０年代にインディーズチャートでヒットしていたようです。
音は幻想的、ユニークかつポップです。聴いていてとても気持ち良いですね。
5. Gepetto や　7. Slow Dog なんかは中でもひときわキャッチー＆ポップな感じです。
当時日本にも来日していて、ライブではタニアとベースの女の子がステージの端から
端まで元気よく動きまくっていました。二人ともすごく輝いていてキュートでした。
アンコールで演奏した Full Moon, Empty Heart のインパクトはいつまでも
鮮やかに心に残っています。
最後にバラードの　Stay　でしっとりと終わります。
全体的にバランスも良く捨て曲も無い素晴らしいアルバムだと思います。

4.0 out of 5 stars 少女時代特有の繊細さや陰鬱さ、残酷さを表現したサウンド, 2009/9/20
タニヤドネリーのキャラクターや声質がそうさせるのだと思うが、
彼女たちのサウンドは、カラフルなギターにエコがー存分にかかっていて、まるで夢見心地なサウンドなのに、
どこか陰鬱で残酷な印象を与える。それは（特にヨーロッパの）少女が持っているそれに酷似している。

深くて暗い森、魔女が出てくるおとぎ話、（無邪気さを伴った）動物の虐待...

当時一世を風靡していたシューゲイザーともまた違った表現で、非常に個性的なサウンドだと思う。
次のアルバムは（少なくとも音的には）普通のロックサウンドになってしまうので、タニヤドネリーに興味を持たれる方は、
まずはこのアルバムを聴いて頂きたいと思う。
