発音できないあの記号がタイトルのアルバム。そこの挿入曲「My Name Is Prince」のEP版。全８曲のうち最初の４曲がMy Name is Prince、続く３曲がSEXY M.F.、そして最後にTo whom it may concern。一通り聴くと、何回「俺はプリンス」と自己紹介されることか。

この曲の後に自分の名前を「シンボル（あの記号）」に変えてしまったプリンス。

自分が「プリンス」でいることができなくなり、苦しんでる様を私たちは聴いていたのだろうか？「シンボル」への改名前の儀式のように自分の名前を繰り返す。

うーん、辛かったんだろうなー。
その割には、相変わらず曲・音はいい。
