「金髪の女の子ボーカル＋ポップオタクな男達」という組み合わせの元祖にして最高到達点。ダンス系の音でありながら今でも古臭く聞こえないメランコリックなメロディーとサンプリング。安物シンセ１台を駆使して制作されたこのファーストは１５年以上経った今でも全然アリ。冒頭のサッカー入場曲サンプリングの「THIS IS RADIO ETIENNE」からニール・ヤングのグラウンド・ビート・カヴァー「ONLY LOVE CAN BREAK YOUR HEART」につながっていくあたりは、DJ始めたばかりの頃にかなり影響受けました。セイント・エチエンヌのアルバムはこれ以外も全部イイです。luckysoulあたりが好きな人には是非！

エチの一般的な名盤といえばこれでしょう。これが彼らのプロパガンダ。サッカーの入場音this is radio Etienneなど彼らの「大好きなもの」がインタールードとなりそこから生まれた様々な新しいものがクラブ・ポップ・ダンスなどとなって具現化されます。

安物機材の“ちゃちな音“すらもはやかけがえの無いアートになってて、”嘘っぽさ“がやけにリアルなこの作品はほとんどオールインワンシンセ１台で作っています。

キャッチーなボーカルを電子音に載せてちょっとハウスっぽく
かっこよくした原型。いちばんのお気に入りは"People Get Real"とか
"London Belongs to Me"みたいな癒し系とかっこよさのバランス。
