5.0 out of 5 stars ウォーホル追悼ＣＤ, 2003/9/1
アンディウォーホルの没後、ヴェルベッツの元メンバー2人が解散後プライベート以外で久々に共同作業した作品。当時ルーはあくまでもフィクションで実際の出来事について歌われているわけではないと発言していましたが、歌詞からもかなり事実が含まれている事は確か。アンディの半生や当時は恋人？だったともいわれたルーとアンディの複雑な関係が全般的にはクールに時には熱く歌われています。シンプルなラインの曲が多く、ルーのハードなギターとジョンのピアノやヴィオラがあいまって上質な映画のサウンドトラックのように響く好作品です。この頃のルーの好調さがうかがえる素晴らしい出来だと思います。この後手応えを感じた2人はヴェルベッツを復活させます（案の上途中で空中分解しますが･･･）。

アンディ・ウォーホルが死んだ後に、ReedとCaleが2人で作った作品。
かなりプライヴェートな内容の歌を、これまた2人が2人きりで演奏するという物で、大体2人が半々位リード・ヴォーカルをとってる。

追悼だからといって深刻ぶらない一見淡々とした小品が並ぶが、各々のスタイルを十分生かしたサウンドであり、非常に美しい曲もあれば、もろReedっぽいハードな早口の曲もある。

その真剣さの間から、彼らの深い悲しみと愛がかえって浮き彫りになり、聞きとおすと、やはり感動してしまうのだ。

2003年の今聞いても個人的にはReedのベストの一つ。

黄色いバナナのアンディが死んだ。二人の悲しげな朗読のような曲はこのアルバムでしか聞けない。このアルバムはNicoのボーカルはなくてもVelvet undergroundなのだろう。
