　このジャケットは見開きになってますが、見開いても全然印象は変わらないどころか、もっと悪くなるかも。というくらい意味不明のジャケットですが、サウンドは最高！

　このボブ・ウェルチが在籍したころのマックは、彼が脱退して、ニックス＆バッキンガムが加入して大ヒットを飛ばしてしまうためか、過小評価されているが、ブルーズ・バンドからポップ・バンドへの橋渡しをしたのは明らかにウェルチの力に負うところが大きい。

　むしろ万人向けの健全なアメリカン・ポップとなるこの後のサウンドよりも、ブリティッシュ・ブルーズ・バンドの名残りを残したロック＆ポップの絶妙なブレンドは今聞いても実にかっこいいです。
　これと次作の「Heroes are　hard　to　find」は必聴。

ブルース・バンドからハイセンスなアメリカン・テイスト・バンドになってしまったフリートウッド・マックですが、ここに至る過渡期にボブ・ウエルチなる人物が絡みまして、実にユニークなアルバムを数枚出しております。僕はこの時期の作品が大好きで、正直なところ両端の時期よりこの時期の音をよく聞きます。特にこの意図が良く分からないジャケットの「ミステリー・トゥ・ミー」が好きでして、中でも「シティ」と「サムバディ」がお気に入りです。特に「サムバディ」のバックコーラスがなんともいえません。それとどういうわけかあのヤードバーズの「フォー・ユア・ラブ」が入ってます。エリック・クラプトンが在籍していた時の大ヒット曲です。フリートウッド・マックのアレンジは意外とよくドラマチックです。なんでこれを収録したのかは分かりませんけどね。さらに、クリスチャン・マクヴィーの歌う「The Way I Feel」はなかなかの佳曲です。この人の声は本当に素敵です。当時はメンバーの個人的な事情は魑魅魍魎のドロドロ世界だったのですが意外とすっきり出来てます。

このアルバム　制作時　メンバーが　他のメンバーの奥さんと不倫関係にあり
それがそのままアルバムに反映されています。

それがアルバム発売直前にわかり､メンバーがばらばらになってしまいました。
そのバンドの決定に怒ったバンドのマネージャーがニセモノを用意
ロック史上　最悪な　フリートウッド・マックハイジャック事件が起こってしまう。

そんな背景はおいといて､アルバムの内容は良質な曲を聴かせてくれます。
そういった背景とはうらはらに・・・・
