いかんせん82年の作品な為、今聴くと古さばかりが目に付くかと思いきや、やっぱりCool!当時エレクトリック・ファンクと呼ばれていたサウンドがタップリ聴ける。圧巻は1)で、すごいグルーブ感のシンセベース(これ手弾き？)が印象的な名曲。しっとりバラードやGeorgeのペロペロ早弾きギターが冴え渡るインストナンバーも含まれ最高に楽しめる一枚。ジャケの化粧はやめてほしいが。

当初、彼が歌物をやりだした頃は、所詮ギタリストのヴォーカルなので大した事ないかなと思いましたが、彼のパフォーマンスをＴＶで見てからそのイメージが塗り替えられ、興味津々でこの作品を入手、見事！期待を裏切る事は無く、絶賛するほどの出来でした。どちらかと言えばクィンシージョーンズ、プロデュースの「ギブ・ミー・ザ・ナイト」の方がセールス的に成功していると思いますが、私はこちらの方が好きです。当時のブラック・コンテンポラリーらしいダンスナンバーの数々を華麗に歌い上げ、時にはギタリストであることも忘れさせないパフォーマンスも披露、得意のスキャットボーカルとギターのユニゾンを聴かせたり、また彼ならではのオクターブ奏法もあり、歌とギターの両方で楽しませてくれます。

ジョージ・ベンソンのこのアルバムとマイケル・ジャクソンのスリラーは、大学当時よく聴いていました。
特にこのIn Your Eyesは、ギタリスト・ベンソンのボーカルが全編にフューチャーされていて、
いつも心地よく聴いていました。
Feel Like Making Loveから始まるＡ面は、とにかくドライブ感満点で気持ちいいです。
Lady Love Me (One More Time)が特にお気に入り。
アルバムタイトル曲In Your Eyesも傑作バラードです。
随所で聴かれるベンソンのギターも冴え渡っています。
名盤です！！
