~個人的に大好きなアルバムなので、なんか評価が低いのが納得いかなくてつい投稿。
冒頭の幻想的なムードといい、sands of~~ timeの不思議な変拍子の入った緻密なアンサンブルといい、あまり他では聴くことができないかっこよさだと思います。この2曲に代表されるように、このアルバムはダニー・カーワンの個性が遂に爆発した名作。新加入のボブ・ウェルチのタイトル曲といい、マック史上最もクールなアルバム。いまこそ聴くべき。~

数あるフリートウッド・マックのレコード＆ＣＤの中でも歴史的意義だけでなく一つの作品としてもいい出来の作品です。数ある名プレーヤーが出入りしていった伝説のグループですが、この作品からアメリカ人の「ボブ・ウエルチ」が参加しとります。アメリカでブルースバンドにいたと当時の雑誌に書いてあった記憶があるのですが、彼の参入でどっちかといえばややハードっぽいポップ路線指向になったのかなと思います。ただまだ指向が定まっていないという指摘はされそうです。そういってももともとこのバンドはジャンルにとらわれない摩訶不思議なバンドであったような気がするのです。「アルバトロス」や「オー・ウエル」などはブルースバンドとは思えませんもんね。という意味ではこの作品も十分今までのマック路線のような気がします。１曲目の「woman of 1000 years」なんかは好きですね。

ファンタスティックではないマックのポップアルバム。
ボブ・ウェルチ在籍中の最高傑作といえば「Heroes Are Hard to Find 」でしょう。しかし、ボブがいる時は常にファンタスティックではなかったマック。
このアルバムもファンタスティックではありません。
リンジーやニックスの音が聞きたいのならば、あまりお勧めできません。
