夏フェス来日のニュースを聞いて、「このタイミングで出るかな〜？」
と思っていたら、本当に発売された。
このDoobiesの紙ジャケ･リイシューを、どれほど楽しみにしていた事か。

で、実際に手に取ってみて、ガックリ。
リマスターされてないじゃないか!!!　･･･なんでやねん！

従来盤は、折角の名盤が台無しになるくらい、音質が悪かった。
紙ジャケが出るなら、絶対リマスターされると思っていた。
今回やらなかったら、今後は一生ないかもしれない。
（DVD-AUDIOなんて買おうと思わないし･･･。）

本当に残念で仕方がありません。

ドゥービーズといえば｢ロング･トレイン｣｢チャイナ･グローヴ｣｢ウィザウト･ユー｣などこの時代の音が頭を駆け巡る｡「スタンピード」も好きであるが,基本はやっぱり｢キャプテン｣なのである｡

まず歌曲の出来が充実の一途である｡ジョンストンのひらめきと才能は他のアルバムを圧倒している｡後にマクドナルドが作り上げたアダルト･ロックとは対極に位置するジョンストンの疾走感がこのアルバムの柱なのである｡
私のアメリカ音楽は基本的には東海岸なのであるが,CCRとドゥービーズだけは別格である｡

Ａ面の頭からＢ面のお尻まで,抜けのない充実感のあるアルバムであり,70年代アメリカの記録的名作である｡

このアルバムをかの山下達郎氏が大絶賛していた記憶があるが、そのとおり彼らのいいところが如実に示されたアルバム。曲もご存知「LONG TRAIN RUNNING」「CHINA GLOBE」をはじめ代表曲がちりばめられている。イーグルスが湿ったサウンドで名作を連発していくが、彼らはカラッとしたギターサウンドが特徴でノリのよさでファンを拡大していった。M・マクドナルドが参加してサウンドが劇的に変化してしまうのだが、それ以前では「STAMPEDE]とこれが代表作だろう
