一曲目の「Night Moves」、これに尽きます。Larry Carltonの泣きのｷﾞﾀｰがこれでもかって位あなたの部屋を満たしてくれます。ﾏｲｹﾙにとってもLarryにとってもﾍﾞｽﾄﾃｲｸでないでしょうか。これにJoe SampleやWilton Felder、等Jazz Fusion界の超大物ががっちり脇を固めており、もう言うことなしです。この曲から、jazzとpop,rockの融合、Cross Over Soundが誕生したといえるまさに歴史のページを飾る名曲、名ｱﾙﾊﾞﾑです。

何の音楽を聴こうか迷った時に,ふと思い出したようにこのアルバムを聞いています。彼にしか出せない独特の雰囲気の歌声とクルセイダースの三人とドラムのジョン・グァーリンのリズム隊にサンボーン,ブレッカーらが作り出すサウンドを聞くと,いつも何かホッとした気分になれます。特にジョー・サンプルのエレピの音が心地よく耳から離れないのです。マイケルのベストアルバムはこのアルバムとSLEEPING GYPSY ですね。甲乙つけ難い。

流れていることを忘れそうなほど、そっと寄り添うような音楽。
何度聴いても飽きることがなく、何度聴いても新鮮な空気を感じる。
４曲目が特に好きです。夕暮れの明かりが目の前に浮かんでくるよう。
