2年ぶりの新作。プロデューサーを前3作とは替え,心気一転を図ったようなふしはうかがえるものの,成果はいまひとつあがっていない。悪くはないし,ファンを失望させることもないが,新しいファンを獲得するのも難しいアルバムといったところか。


Album Details

Japanese only SHM pressing. Features 24-bit mastering and packaged in a paper sleeve. The SHM-CD [Super High Material CD] format features enhanced audio quality through the use of a special polycarbonate plastic. Using a process developed by JVC and Universal Music Japan discovered through the joint companies' research into LCD display manufacturing SHM-CDs feature improved transparency on the data side of the disc allowing for more accurate reading of CD data by the CD player laser head. SHM-CD format CDs are fully compatible with standard CD players.

3.0 out of 5 stars プロデューサーの交代劇が方向性の迷いに。, 2007/2/13
当初、マイク・ストーンでレコーディングされていた今作だが、「スティーブンのボーカルに合わない」という理由で三作目までのボー・ヒルに変更。ボーカルは録り直したというが、これが全く個性の違うプロデューサー同士。ごちゃごちゃした感じが、そのまま方向性の迷いにもなってしまった。1，2曲目などＲＡＴＴらしいナンバーもあり、三曲目でいきなりブルース！？っぽいのも悪くはないが、今までの曲のキレがない。この頃からウォーレンの成長がバンドに影響力を表すようになり、ロビンの存在が薄くなっていく。しかし、ロビンのソングライティングがあってこそ、大成功したことにバンドは気付かなかった。この事がＲＡＴＴが衰退した原因の一つである。

最大の原因は、音が変わったこと。しかし、曲は紙一重でＲＯＵＮＤｎＲＯＵＮＤな曲が実は入っている。逆にＷＡＹＣＯＯＬみたいな曲のほうこそ邪魔だと感じる私のような方も少なくはないはず。

I WANT A　WOMAN　ストレートなタイトルが笑わせてくれる。
でも、アルバム自体はラットとしては地味かな？
何か元気がない感じ。

６曲目は、クルマでレーサー気分になるためのドーピングにピッタリです。ミドルテンポ中心のRATTにしては、珍しくスピードナンバーかな？
