音楽的内容については、アグレッシブこの上ないリフが堪能できるメタリカらしいすばらしいアルバムだと思います。
楽曲的には人間の深淵の感情の部分を刺激された様な、そんな感じを受けました。
このアルバムについて思う事はただ一つ。音源の改善はあるのか、ないのか。
この音源改善無しバージョンもメーカーに乗せらているとは分かりつつも、悲しいかな、持ってます。
しかしながら、3度目の正直と言うか…近々出るバージョンが、またも、リマスター無し（メーカー側の都合により）と言うことらしいです。
ウソか、本当かは定かではありませんが。
もはやこのモンスターバンドには、期待しても叶わないような気がしてきました。

スラッシュバンドとしてのメタリカとしてはラストアルバム。
次作が問題作ブラックアルバムであり、スラッシュの一区切りを
彼ら自身がつけた意欲作です。

音は緻密、構成は変幻自在で今聴いても新鮮に感じられる素晴らしい
作品です。プロデュースが若干硬いかな・・・と思われますが、
それ以上に彼らのパワー・スピードが聴き手を魅了します。

リアルタイムで初めて聴いた第一印象は、マスターよりもスピードが
控えめかな・・・プロデュースがおとなしめかな・・・とか、だった
のですが、聞き込めば聞き込むほど緻密な音作りと変幻自在な曲構成
に惹きこまれていきました。

名曲ＯＮＥ、１曲目から怒涛の３曲、５曲目以降もスピードのある曲、

ブラックアルバムの方向性を予感させる!６曲目など曲のバリエーション
もさえた名作です。

スラッシュメタリカの最終形を聞きたければ、この作品をお勧めします。
