1985年のモントルージャズフェスティバルにおけるライブ作品です。
そこにはジョアン・ジルベルトのギターとボーカルしかありません。
最大７音しか出せない状況で、
ここまで人を惹きつける魅力をもった音を作れる音楽家が他にいるでしょうか。
「これ以上の心地良さは静寂以外に考えられない。」
カエターノ・ヴェローゾが、「ジョアン　声とギター」のプロデューにあたり
語った言葉が思い出されます。文句なしの名盤です。

5.0 out of 5 stars 奇跡の来日公演を彷彿させます, 2003/9/24
2003年9月，横浜と東京における初来日公演の演奏に最も近い記録でしょう（「ウンブリア・ジャズ」等と比較しました）。連日1時間前後遅刻，途中は観客の拍手に聴き入って20分間中断といったエピソードがありましたが，それでもたった一人でボーカルとギターだけで5千人もの観客を2時間以上に渡って惹きつけました。本ライブ盤にも観客が演奏に熱狂して歌と拍手で演奏者に応じる様子が聴かれます。考えてみれば来日公演はこの15年後。同じスタイルで，しかしマンネリズムに陥らず，世界中の人々を引きつけるこの音楽こそ，ボサノヴァというジャンルを超える本物なのだと実感させられます。

ジョアン・ジルベルトの音楽のスタイル。
それは、「はったり」のない自然で優しいものだと思います。
このアルバムはまさしくその魅力が満載のライブアルバムです。
ライブならではのリラックスした演奏も楽しめるので、
これからジョアンの音楽を聴こうと思ってる人も、
もう充分聴いてる人にもオススメです。

是非、ジョアン・ジルベルトの世界を堪能して下さい。
