   偉そうな批評家たちがクラフトワークのことをデジタル時代の夢想家だと言って非難するときに本作は槍玉に挙げられそうだ。だがそうした評価は、「Home Computer」「Computer Love」（片手でのタイピングのことを讃えているわけではない）といった曲のことを考えれば、あまりに安直としか言いようがない。とは言え、デジタル・サウンドの聖者という称号をクラフトワークに負わせてしまったら、本作の淡々としたウィットとあまりにも人間的な遊び心とを完全に見逃してしまっている。「Pocket Calculator」「Numbers」（この曲の歌詞は、1から8までをただ単に数えているだけだ）は、あまりにひどい教育的プログラムに対する冗談半分の反論と言えるかもしれないが、嫌味な学者のような気配も感じさせる。つまり本作は、クラフトワークのキャリアの中でも最高に矛盾に満ちた愛すべきアルバムなのだ。なんと言っても、テクノロジーに対してこれ以上ないほどの病的なこだわりを見せながら、同時にこのうえなく人間味にあふれているのだから。（Jerry McCulley, Amazon.com）

クラフトワークの代表作を選ぶ場合、リアルタイムで彼らを聞いていた音楽評論家などは、何故か「人間解体」あるいは「ヨーロッパ特急」を選ぶことが多く、ロック名盤ガイドといった書籍でも本作が紹介されていることは少ない。なかにはアルバムのモチーフとしてアナログ的なものをコンピューターで再現するということに彼らの機械文明に対するアイロニーが込められているのに、本作ではまんまコンピューターをモチーフにして能天気にテクノロジー賛歌をしてしまっており批判性がないとかいった大バカな解説をしているアホな評論家さえいる始末。逆にクラブ系のアーティスト達からは本作をクラフトワークの最高傑作に挙げるものが圧倒的である。現在の観点で聞けば当然本作が彼らの最高傑作であることは明らか。本作は多くのレビュアーのコメントにあるように、リズムトラックが非常に複雑に組み立てられており、音色も今のクラブシーンでも十分通用する先鋭的なもの。前作までがプログレッシブロックの発展系エレクトロニックミュージックとして捉えることがまだできたが、本作は完全に今の感覚のテクノ。当時の感性の古い評論家達が本作をリリース時に評価できなかったのもなんとなく納得できる。いかに音楽評論家とかいった連中が信用おけないか、本作のリリース時の不評から如実に分かるだろう。

クラフトワークの到達する先はどうしてもコンピューターしかあり得なかったと考えるのはきっと僕だけではないでしょう。ラルフとは実はジェフリー・ディーヴァーの『青の虚空』のショーンじゃないけど、一台のコンピュータの呼称なのかもしれません。

完成されたクラフトワーク。このアルバムで彼等は完全体です。

聴きなおしてみたら思いの他良かった。

個人的に彼らの作品の中で一番キビシイのはELECTRIC CAFEだと
思っているのだけど、あれすらも良かった。

多分、マジメ半分フザケ半分で、本人達は凄くユーモラスなんだと思う。

ComputerLove、聞き流しているといつの間にか遠い所へ連れていってくれます。
