1979年発表。A&Mスタジオとエレクトリック・レディ・ランドにて録音。
全面に溢れるブルージーな雰囲気。ジョニ・ミッチェルのボーカルとジャコ・パストリアスのベースの対話するかのようにアルバムは進行する。
アルバムはあのチャーリー・ミンガスに捧げられているのだが、ひたすら耳をそばだてれば、そこはジャコのベースの独壇場だと気がつくはずだ。

ジャコ・パストリアスで特筆すべきなのベース・テクニックだけでなく、ホーン・アレンジメントの才能であると聴き込むほどに気がついてくる。このアルバムの9曲目『デ・モインのおしゃれ賭博師』のホーン・アレンジメントの素晴らしさは後のジャコ自身のソロでのそれを既に予感させる。

ジャコのファンでは聴きのがせないアルバム。
