一曲目のシンセが落ちてくる音~コーラス~雷鳴~コーラス。ここらあたりで完全に彼らの世界に引き込まれてゆきます。４０分を越える彼らの音世界への見事な導入です。その後9まで、完成度の高い曲ばかりがずらりと並びます。プログレの範疇で語られることが多い彼らですが、他のプログレグループのように異様な緊張感を強いる曲ばかりではなく、愛娘のことを歌った4、おとぎ話のような7などやさしさに満ちた曲も多く、こういった側面がプログレファンから軟弱と呼ばれているのかと思われます。ただ、アルバム全体の構成力、音楽へのアプローチなど、そんじょそこらのプログレバンドより全然高度ですし、曲作りのセンス、見事なコーラスワーク等もっともっと評価されてしかるべきバンドだと思います。このアルバムの中でも6、9は名曲です。

　原題は音楽の基本的なコードである、E・G・B・D・Fを頭文字として作ったものである。
　彼等の特徴であった詩の朗読は姿を消し、オープニングのProcessionは、様々な楽器や効果音を使用したインストナンバーで、人間と自然の営みが表現されていく。例によっておっ被せるように始まるThe Story in Your EyesはJustin Haywardの大ヒット・チューンで、軽快ながらも分厚い音づくりである。この曲に限らず全ての曲の完成度は非常に高い。また、全体的に優雅でおおらかな流れを作り出しており、初期のサイケデリックさや、前作の冷たさは影をひそめている。アルバムのハイライトとも言えるラストのMy Songは、Mike Pinderの最高傑作であり、「いつの日かわたしたちは、一つの心の恒星になろう。」と愛を力強く謳う。Days of Future Passedで彼等が見つけたポップ・ミュージックとクラシックの間の広大な荒地は、見事な秘密の花園に生まれ変わったのである。

この作品の邦題は童夢ですが、そのタイトル通りのとてもユーモアのあるサウンドが男らしいボーカルとマッチしています。また、ジャケットの美しさや曲の流れるような構成など細かいところにも目が行き通っています。

さらに，リマスターだけあって、各パートの演奏も立体感のある音で響き渡っています。プログレのなかでもインストゥルメンタルが無く、聞きやすく仕上がっている大傑作！
