3rd album "Storm at Sunup" で展開しまくるアレンジを確立し、4th album "The Gist of the Gemini" で戦争組曲というあらゆる音楽の融合を達成し、5th album "A Pauper in Paradise" でついにフルオーケストラまで使ってしまい、どこまで行ってしまうのか？（笑）と思われたジノが心機一転、ポップにまとめあげたA&M時代の最終作にして最高傑作。

分数コードの極致とも言えるAppaloosa で幕を開け（もう気が狂いそうに素敵なコード進行）、かの坂本龍一・矢野顕子夫妻もキリンバンド時代にカバーしたRiver must flow へ続き、ジノ最高の名作I just wanna stop へなだれ込む流れは圧巻。タイトル曲Brother to Brother を聞けば、それまでのアルバムの壮大なアレンジを窺い知ることができると思うし、他にもWheels of life （これはフランス語でもカバーされました）や家族愛を歌ったPeople I belong to など、楽曲も粒ぞろいです。

まだ無名時代のカルロス・リオスが縦横無尽にギターを弾きまくり、現イエロージャケッツのジミー・ハスリップがタイトル曲では早弾きベースソロを披露するなど、全体的にはコンボっぽいバンドサウンドです。もちろん実兄のジョー・バネリのキーボードも冴えまくり（かなりコーラスを強力にかけたCP-80）、またEW&Fなどに曲を提供しているソングライターの実弟、ロス・バネリも楽曲の提供やアレンジに力を貸しています。

まさに兄弟の絆がこの傑作アルバムを生み出したといえるでしょう。Night Walker と並び、ジノの傑作アルバムの一つ。まずはここから比類なきジノワールドに、はまっていって下さい。

まさにミュージシャンズ・ミュージシャンとうたわれた「ジノ・バネリ」の全盛期の代表作で、「ナイト・ウォーカー」と並び賞されるＡＯＲとフュージョンとソウルミュージックの究極の融合形！彼の独特の甘く粘りのある、そして広がりのある歌声を聞けば、まさに天才の名を欲しいままにしている理由が十二分に納得頂けるでしょう！また、バックを支えるジョー・バネリのアレンジャー兼キーボーディストの類まれなる才能にはただただ驚嘆するばかりです。ギタリストのカルロス・リオスはこの作品で残したプレイを生涯ついに越えられないままです。アルバムのタイトル曲にもなっている「ブラザー・トゥー・ブラザー」でのマーク・クレイニーのスリリングかつダイナミックなドラミングを大音量で聞いて何も感じない人などこの世の中に居ないでしょう！ジミー・ハスリップはただマイペースに冷静沈着な彼らしいプレイを聴かせてくれています。（笑）演奏、曲、ボーカル、どれをとってもまさに100点満点！アップテンポ~バラードまでバランスのとれた選曲で、捨て曲無しの後世に残る超名作です！朝、昼、夜、いつ聞いてもＯＫのシチュエーションを選ばせない、ホント超お勧めのアルバムですよ~！

　私の20年来のフェイバリットアーチストだ。日本ではほとんど知られておらず、アンルイスや矢野顕子といった「プロが愛するプロ」と評されている。
　ボーカル、楽器とも非常なハイレベル、その高いテンションとドライブ感は他の追随を許さないものがある。比較的セールスを稼いだ曲が「I Just Wanna Stop」これが静かなバラードであったこともあり、誤った評価がされがちだが、ジノバネリの本領は「Appaloosa」「The River Must Flow」「Brother to Brother」のハイテンポな曲にある。高い演奏技術、太くかつクリアな歌声、最後までキープされるテンションとドライブ感。
　特に「Brother to Brother」は、前作「THE GIST OF THE GEMINI」の「戦争組曲」に見られたようなプログレッシヴな構成になっている。
　買って後悔しないお勧めの1枚。
