個人的に　このアルバムは　大絶賛です。
渋くて　めちゃめちゃかっこいい。
確かに　地味ですが　何回聞いても　飽きない。
私は　何十年聞いてますが（笑）
肩肘の張らない　すごいアルバムでは　ないでしょうか？

７８年発表。ディック・シムズ（Ｋ）、マーシー・レヴィ（Ｖｏ）、ジョージ・テリー（Ｇ）、カール・レイドル（Ｂ）、ジェイミー・オール・テイカー（Ｄｒ)というメンツによる自身のバンドによる安定したサポートを受けた作品のためクラプトンの作品としては最も話題性の少ない作品かもしれない。おまけに前作が名曲を多数含んだ「スロー・ハンド」のためどっちを選ぶかと言えば・・・またプロデュースも前作と同じグリン・ジョーンズであり、二匹目のどじょうという話も出てきても仕方がないところ。しかしながら地味ということは否定しないものの、なかなか良い曲が詰まっている。多分１．だけでアルバムの雰囲気は伝わると思うが、カントリー/スワンプ、ゴスペル、Ｒ＆Ｂといった南部系のサウンドでまとめられた作品であり、それらの音楽が好きな人なら手放しでお薦めできる傑作アルバムである。名盤と言われる「４６１」とも近い雰囲気もあり、あちらが好きな人ならまず気に入るでしょう。
１．と６．はボブ・ディランとヘレナ・スプリングスとの共作であり、３．はＪ．Ｊ．ケイルの曲。このアルバムからの１ｓｔシングルであり、全米９位のヒット曲９．にはギャラガー＆ライルが参加、モロにザ・バンドっぽい曲である。
