私の周りではフォローザリーダー以降にファンになった人が多くいるようですが、初期のアバンギャルドな表現の大ファンになってしまった私は本作以降の作品ではいまいち満たされていません。

メタリカやパンテラ的なヘヴィーロックの先入観バリバリで聴いたので、最初の印象では言うほどヘヴィーだとは感じず、むしろ隙間の多い楽曲に戸惑いすら感じていました、しかし数日後気が付くと印象的なサビのメロディーが頭の中をグルグル回りだしたのです！ジワジワと洗脳されていました。

結局ヘヴィーだとかヒップホップ的表現だとか関係なくて、カッコよくていかれていてヤバくて素晴らしい作品です。生々しい音像に変態的なギター、うねるグルーブに狂ったヴォーカル、これが抜群の中毒性を持っているわけです、癖になりますよ。

現在まで７作品リリースしていますが、３作目以降は常に実験的
に音楽的アプローチを続けています。その度に論争を巻き起こして
いますが、この２ＮＤだけは１ＳＴの続編と言ってもいいくらい
ＫＯＲＮらしい作品です。今でこそ、太りまくってしまった
ジョナサンですが、この頃は食べ物にばい菌がついてる気がして
食べれなかったというだけあって、かなり痩せていて中性的な
魅力に溢れています。ブカブカのアディダスのジャージを着て
狂ったように体をくねらせるステージングは必見です。
ジャージを脱ぐと胸毛がモウモウで二度驚かされます。
彼等が出てきて以降たくさんのフォロワーを生みましたが
個性の塊のような風体とそれを補ってあまりある音楽性が
炸裂している彼等を他の連中と分け隔てのが初期の２作品だと
思います。

KORNの好きな人は分かるだろう、アルバム一枚一枚特徴が変わり、そこにKORNでしかありえない独特な特徴を持ってくる。そして一枚一枚確実に成長を見せる、さほど差はないがKORNのアルバムの中で僕はこれが一番好きだ。そう思っている人は少なくは無いはず。このアルバムが一番KORN的で変な色がついていないのだ。KORNの持っている特徴と若さを限界に引き出し、そしてそれを感じさせる。１ｓｔの延長上にあって一番激しくKORNを感じさせる、ピュアな傑作。他のアルバムも本当に良くできていて、僕を魅了し続けているのは確かだが、この2ndが一番好きだ。
