個人的に「BUTTERFLY」に次いで、マライアの中でもっとも気に入っているアルバム。「fantasy」をファーストシングルに、「one sweet day」「always be my baby」「open arms」「forever」「underneath the stars」「lookin’ in 」…と、立て続けにヒットシングル（プロモ／リミックスオンリーも含む）を連発し、売り上げもモンスター並、誰も寄せ付けない圧倒的な力を持ったアルバムです。ここで初めて起用したSEAN “PUFFY” COMSの仕事振りは、まさしく抜擢という言葉がピッタリ。このアルバムの成功があったからこそ、その後のマライアの活動が持続できたといっても過言ではないと思います。少なくとも「BUTTERFLY」は出来なかったですね。そして現在のマライアに欠かせないジャーメインの起用もまた同様。「always be my baby」はマライアの人気クラシックとして、古いファンからも新しいファンからも受け入れられたキュートな一曲に仕上がっています。ライトなヴォーカルがいつ聴いてもピッタリくるんでしょうね。その他にも、先鋭的な曲が沢山あり、人気・実力・才能が同居し、まさに怖いものなしな中で、アグレッシブに制作された本作。当時としては最先端、現在は名クラシック盤として存在するこのアルバムなので、きちんと向き合って聞く価値のあるものだと思います。

このアルバムは、まあまあです。ファンタジーは「The　Ones」の時より良いと思います。３曲目、６曲目、７曲目が好きです。私は、「Open Arm」も好きだけど、私のお勧めは６曲目です。あとの曲はそんなに好きでも嫌いでもないです。２曲目の曲は、ファンの間では人気があるみたいだけど、私は良いとは思いません。

全体的に自然と体がリズムをとれる感じでよいです。私は4曲目が好きです。最初聞いたときは胸がキュンとしました。英語が分からなくても聞けば自然と涙が出てくる感じです。（マライアは実体験を詞にしたりしているので）
