極論を言えば、オアシスはこの1stと、シングル「whatever」さえ聴けばもう十分である。
とゆうか、別にレディヘやプライマルみたく音楽性を変化させてるバンドではないので(悪い意味ではない)、
最高傑作さえ聴けば事足りるというのはすごく自然な発想だと思う。

いや、もっとざっくり言えば、このオアシスが最高到達点から始まるバンドとゆうことが事前の情報としてわかってる今の時代に、
わざわざこの1stと比べて3rdやヒーザン(十分に高水準)を叩くなんつー野暮な批評をするくらいなら、
もう最初からこれ以外は聴くな!っつーことだ。

逆に言えば、それだけの価値がこの1stにはある訳なので、きっちり輸入盤を一枚買って、擦りきれるまで聴きまくってくださいよ。ね。
これから洋楽デビューしようかと考えてる人にもオススメな一枚。
キラートラックは(もちろん輸入盤で)、1・3・6・10・11です。

皆アホみたいに評価してるけど、「UKロック最高傑作」だってｗ
客観的にみてこの作品がUKロック最高傑作とは思えない。
むしろこの作品は完成度とは逆の部分、荒々しさや勢いで
押してくる作品だ。リフも荒々しい、トニーのドラムはクソ下手
だけど、そこがいい。このアルバムは中毒性が高く飽きづらい
作品だが、それは決して完成度が高いから飽きないんじゃなくて
荒々しさ＝純粋さがあるから飽きないんだと思う。
完成度が高いアルバムを人生経験豊富なおじいさんと例えると
このアルバムは赤ちゃんみたいなアルバムだと思う。
でも、そこがいい。

　オアシスの凄さとは、リスナーと音自体の間にある主客の垣根が、彼らの音楽が鳴り響いている間はぶち壊されてしまうという点にある。普通ならば、例えばキース・リチャーズのギターはキース自身のものであり、ロバート・プラントの歌声はプラント自身のものであって、我々はそういったミュージシャンの「所有物」の数々からは否応なく距離をとらねばならない。しかし、オアシスは違う。ヘッドフォンから流れ出るギターはノエルのギターであると同時に「俺の」ギターであり、歌声はリアムのそれであると同時に「俺の」歌声なのである。かっちょいいロックスターへの憧憬をそのまま、音楽を聴くという行為に託すのではなく、憧れ云々を通り越して「自分が」ロックスターになるのだ。それはオアシスを聴く者だけが得られる感覚であり、そんな風にしてリスナーを肯定し続けているのはオアシスだけである。下らない日常を歌い聴き手に媚びまくるお手軽バンド達には絶対に到達できない本質的な「近さ」こそが、オアシスが王者たる所以だ。
