ベアトリス（エマ・トンプソン）の朗読に続く序曲を聞くと、誰でもワクワクしてしまうに違いない。映画を観てもよくわかるけど、音楽のこの盛り上がりはどうしようもないくらい“恋しよう！あの人を愛そう！！”と訴えかける。ここまで高らかに歌い上げられると、もう“爽快！”の一言だ。

そして、パトリック・ドイルの涼やかな歌声。｢ヘンリー５世｣でも聞かせてくれたが、９曲目の“Sigh No More Ladies”では男女の恋心を優しく歌い上げている。｢から騒ぎ｣の世界を華やかに彩る“仕掛”がこのサントラの中には詰まっている。

ブラナーのシェイクスピアには欠かせない素晴らしい作曲家のドイル、
彼自身が歌う9曲目と20曲目を聞くために購入しました。
9曲目のSigh no more, ladiesは特に素晴らしいです。
原作の歌詞に命が吹き込まれたれたような一曲です。
ドイルが柔らかに、優しく語りかけるように歌い上げています。
試聴出来ないのが本当に残念。
