このアルバムは最近の若い人達が聴いたらどう思うだろうなぁと思いながら、十数年経った今も聴いています。このヘヴィーでダークなサウンドは最近の曲にはあまり見られませんね。何故だろうなぁ?こういうぶっ飛んだアルバムを作れるミュージシャンが出てくることを祈りつつ、もう永遠に聴くことの出来ないレインの歌声に今日もまた酔いしれる…

デビューアルバムの一曲目でwe die young,faster we runと歌われる。このバンドが辿っていく道を暗示しているかのようだ。
音のほうはというとうねり、メロディの美しさ、中毒性なんかは次作のDIRTのほうが勝っていると思う。ただレインの声に力が漲っており、改めてAICの音楽の特異性がレインの声に因るところが大きいのだと感じさせられる。

作品的には２作目のＤＩＲＴが最高傑作と言われている。それは分かる。彼等独特のうねる様なダークさやヘヴィーさはＤＩＲＴから確率されたと言っても過言ではない。元々はガンズの様なメタルバンドだったと言う彼等だけに今作はアイドルメタルがヘヴィネス界のモンスターへと変貌する中間と言った感じ。以降の作品よりも何かブルーズ的でもあるし、また正統派ロックの臭いがこれ以降の作品よりも強い。それになんと言っても１と２曲目が避けては通れない彼等の名曲。ベストにも必ずはいる作品ではあるけども、マニアックな3rdよりははまれるかも
