1989年リリース。バカテク・ドラマー、テリー・ボジオと切れてるキーボード、トニー・ハイマスと組んだベース・レス・トリオという組み合わせがまず素晴らしい。当時45才だったベックのギターは特にテリー・ボジオのドラムによって火がついてしまい確実に20代へと若返ってしまっている（●＾o＾●）。ちなみにアルバム・ジャケットは2種類あって先行リリース盤はヒモでぐるぐる巻きに包装されたようなデザインになっていて大変にレアである。ちなみに僕が持っているのはそのレア盤である。（●＾o＾●）
それにしてもどうしたらこんな音色が出せるのだろう???僕もPOD2等で相当試してみたけどこの音(最初の『Guitar Shop』からもうお手上げ)が出せるのか不思議で仕方がない。始末が悪いことに、ベックのギターは60才を越えた今でも確実に前進・変化していていつまでたっても真似すら出来ない。恐るべきギタリストである。

このアルバムはメンバーの良さもあって最高の結果が出ている。ギター弾きが眠れなくなるアルバムである。（●＾o＾●）

１９８９年リリースのオールインストアルバム（効果をあげるボーカルは、入ってますが）・・・前作「ＦＬＡＳＨ」の反動が来たのでしょう。このアルバムの魅力はなんと言っても、超絶技巧ドラマー・テリーボジオとコラボレートしている事でしょう！！（キーボードは、トニーハイマス。）変態ベースレストリオと言う構成ながら、そのバンド然としたサウンドは見事・・・テリーとの共演は、大成功。「ＳＡＶＯＹ」「ＢＩＧＢＬＯＣＫ」「ＳＴＡＮＤＯＮＩＴ」「ＳＬＩＮＧＳＨＯＴ」は大好きなオススメナンバー。５曲目「ＷＨＥＲＥＷＥＲＥＹＯＵ」でのギターは、ジェフの名演（静かな曲）・・・神業です、必聴！！

　日本先行発売の「ラッピングジャケット」と上記の通常盤が御座います。新規のコレクター方はご注意下さい。

　ウチのパパはわがままだ。ほとんどの人が「ピック」を使ってギターを演奏するのに「めんどくせぇ・・・音が変わる」といって、自分の親指をギターに叩きつけている。口癖はこうだ・・・「俺のヒーローを真似る時、右手の指は全部使って弾いたものだ。ギャロッピングっていうんだけどな・・・」と、鼻高々に言うのだ。ギターも微妙だがコロコロ変えている。男のコダワリと言っていた・・・
　テクノロジーの発達が絶対に追いつかない「個の表現」が在ると思う。少なくとも、５年から１０年はＣＰＵを使っての表現は無理であろうと思う。特に、ジェフ・べックというキャラクターは再現するのに特Ａクラスの難しさだ。何故なら、ギタリストとしての進化が止まらないからだ。進化が止まるのは、彼が死んだ時であろう。

　最近のアルバムのなかではこのアルバムがベストではなかろうか？これを基準にし、延長線上に２・３作ある気がしてならない。ギターのマイクからノイズが消えて、珠玉のフェンダーサウンドが堪能できるようになったからだと私は思う。そして、テリーボジオとの競演での刺激が、彼をまた進化させてしまったのだろう・・・若い血を吸うドラキュラの如く、彼の進化は止まらない。
