多くの人達は[ペイン・キラー]を掲げますが…僕はダントツでコレ!![ラム・イット・ダウン]です。ジャケのパワーアートそのままに全曲がパワーメタルと言えます。特にタイトル曲は…ツキササル!!!

せにょ~~る、本日御紹介いたしますのは、１９８８年リリース、通算１２枚目でございます。あんまりにもアメリカンマーケットのためにサウンドパターンが拡散し過ぎて、幕の内弁当のごときになりすぎていたことに反省したのかこりたのか、ベイシックな核に回帰しようとする意気込みが感じられるのでございます。

その意気込みはジャケットデザインとアルバムタイトルにあらわれていますが、ちいいと力み過ぎという感は否定できないのでございます、そしてそれが時には空回り＝ひとり相撲になっている部分がございます。
それが結果として楽曲が低調なイメージを成立させていると思われます。

アップテンポではいいものがありますが、やはりターボで採択した方法論＝『洗練させる方向性＝メカニカルち?部分での詰め』により良い部分がかき消されている印象がいたします。そして最大の批判の対象は『ヘッドバンギングアンセム』がこれといって存在しないことでしょうか＝たとえば『LIVIN AFTER MIDNIGHT』『YOU'VE GOT ANOTHER THING COMIN』のような決定打がございません。

これぞ"HEAVY METAL"、という曲のオン・パレード。
原形を留めていない"JOHNNY B. GOOD"のカヴァー。
PUNK/HARDCOREを専門的に聴いていた僕にとっては、
コテコテの80'S METALで、ちょっと違和感があるけど、
僕もこう言うもの物を受け入れる歳になったのかなあ。
僕はJUDAS PRIEST MANIACではないので、
全体的に見て、彼らのこのALUBUMの位置を評価できないけど、

僕にとって、このALBUMは「当り」です。
