はっきりいってMTUMEは過小評価されていると思う。インチキなファンクだと言い切る人もいるかもしれない。だがちょっと待て、ファンクはもともとインチキなものだろうよ。なにしろ1983年である。「見ろよおい、俺シンドラ買っちゃったんだぜ~！」という感じだったのだろうか、全編に1983年のシンセドラムが恥ずかしいディスコのイメージをかき立てる。ヒップホップの大ネタとして有名なJUICY FRUITの強烈なリズムトラックは、最後（８曲め）にリプライズというんでしょうか、別ヴァージョンを付け加えているところからも、やっぱ本人らもお気に入りなんだなあと納得しちゃいます。YOU CAN LICK ME EVERYWHEREのフックは、絶対に、誰でも、必ず、儲かります。じゃなくて、口ずさんじゃいます。他にもいい曲はいっぱいありまして、事実上のMTUMEのベスト盤とも言えるかな、そんな感じです。

セクシーでアレンジがうまくて素敵なバンドすよ。タワサアギーの強力なボーカルが印象に残ります。

私はロジャー・トラウトマン系やブーツィー・コリンズ系にはしりがちなのですが、これはmtumeのアルバムては、最高にヘビーでノリいいFUNKに仕上がっていると思います。どうぞご試聴あれ!
