本ディスクは、5.1chサラウンド音源を収録したSACDです。
DSDマスタリングだけあって、音のクリアーさと鮮烈さはCDを遥かに超えています。もやもや感が全くなく、本作の魅力が100％伝わってきます。

ロザーナでは、リアからホーンセクションが、ギターソロは前後から攻めてきます。アフリカでは、パーカッションが後ろからきます。

TOTOファンのあなた、SACDプレーヤーを買って本作を聴いてみましょう！

　新しいデジタルリマスタで是非聴きたかった『アフリカ』、ヘッドフォンで聴いてみて下さい。各楽器パートの輪郭がくっきりで雄大なメロディーがさらにすばらしい。本作は、楽器数も多くオーケストラ、ストリングス、パーカッションなどなど細かい部分もトレースして聴くと、また新鮮な感じで新たな感動を覚えます。ドラムのハイハットの細かいリズムやベースのズシンとくる感じは、新リマスタの恩恵であり、ロックポップスの歴史に燦然と輝くアルバムである本作は、いい音で聴きたいと思っていましたので、嬉しい限り。
　本作は、TOTOの4作目、収録されている10曲は全てシングル（A面B面あわせて）カットされ、演奏、サウンドメイク、緻密な構成などにおいてやはりTOTOの最高傑作といえる作品です。このアルバムの音が当時の世界中のポップスのベースになったと言っても過言ではありません。

　積極的にホーンやパーカッション・ストリングスなどを導入しすばらしいアンサンブルが創りあげられた1枚です。当時の彼ら一人一人の経験・人脈と時代のタイミングがあってこその2度と生まれ得ない傑作と思います。
　ご存知の通りシングルヒットが多く楽曲も粒ぞろいのアルバムですが、TOTOのアルバムの常でまとまりも非常に良い。（「Africa」がちょっと浮いておりこれを最後に持ってきたのは正解。）
　個々のプレイについてもジェフ・グルーブとそれに絡んだ押し出しの強いハンゲイトのベース音、あくまでピアノを主体としかっこいいリフを随所に効かせるデヴィット・ペイチのキーボード、今でもこれ以上ないと思わせるルカサーの滑らかなフレーズとギターの音色、それらをますます引き立たせるつぼを押さえたスティーブ・ポーカロのシンセ。そしてすばらしいボーカルアレンジと、ボビー・キンボールのソウルフルな歌い回し。どれだけ多くのバンドマンがこれらをパクろうとしたことか。
　何よりも大きいのは、ルカサーの写真が太っていないのはこの頃までということ。やっぱりギタリストはかっこよくなきゃ。
