カナダの中堅メロデックハードポップバンド。２作目です。
キャッチーなポップテイストいっぱいの曲を聴かせます。

１、２枚目はかなりいけてます。１曲目はパーティーアンセム的なものでのりのりです。すごくキャッチーです。

シンセアレンジがニューウエイブ的で、ＡＯＲ的な輪郭のはっきりしたフックがこのバンドの特色です。

マイクレノの力いっぱいの歌声も魅力のひとつ。ブルースフェアバーンの見事なプロデュースワークにのりバンドのピークを示すアルバムのひとつとなった。１０点中９点。

オープニングの「それいけウィークエンド（邦題）」につきるかと思いきや、なかなかどうしてよいアルバムです。ボンジョヴィのファンなら聴いて欲しい。トップ１０ヒットはなかったものの、派手な皮パンにえんがっちょジャケットは忘れられない。1以外に大当たりの曲はないけど、まとまっていて良し。ボンジョヴィほどインパクトはなく、サミーヘイガーほどパンチは無いものの、及第点はつけられます。後に、『トップガン』と『フットルース』のサントラ盤でお目にかかれました。合掌。

カナダ出身のロックバンド、ラヴァーボーイの2作目。シンプルなリズムにギター中心のサウンド、これに伸びのあるヴォーカルが乗るアメリカンロックの王道的作り。後に全盛となるシンセイサウンドもそこそこ入っていて、いかにも80年代初頭の雰囲気です。1曲目のタイトル曲はまさにその個性が顕著でヒット作となりました。ただハードポップと言われたように曲がキャッチーなため、それほど古さは感じません。あまり小難しいことは考えずに単純に楽しむのが吉でしょう。
