前作「First Course」から僅か1年そこそこで本作('77年作)をリリースしたL.リトナー(g)にしてみれば、まさに助走からいよいよスピードを上げに入る時期だったのかも知れません。
タイトル曲の[1]を始め、清々しさを感じさせる[2]。S.ワンダーのヒット曲[5]を取り上げるなど、聴き易さというか、いい意味でのポップなセンスがより全面に出されており、初期の傑作と推すファンの方も多いのではないでしょうか。
本作では、その後のＡＯＲブームの首領(?)となるJ.グレイドンやR.パーカーJrといった通好みのギタープレーがお得意のプレーヤーを入れたり、[5]のボーカルにB.チャンプリンを持ってきたりと、なかなか強かな作品作りをしている点も見(聴き)逃せません。
この後ジェントル・ソウツを率いてフュージョンブームの寵児になる訳ですが、その後の活躍を通して見てもお判りのように、決して器用なだけで成功した人でないことがわかります。
＃ジェントルソウツを形成する面子も勿論参加しています。

はるか４分の１半世紀以上前、私がガッドとハービーメイソンの
当時の２大売れっ子ドラマーに憧れドラムを始めた頃、打ちの
めされたのがこの曲でした。
すごいアンサンブルですね。
今聴いてもわくわくします。
ほかのアルバムにも入っていましたが、このアルバムのものが最高。
ガッドのスペインなんかを今聞いても震えるような感動を、今でも味わえます。
こんな古いアルバムを、ネットを通して買えるなんて、ありがたい世の中です。アマゾンさん、これからも期待しています。

学生時代、ＬＰレコードで買いました。
１曲目で、度肝を抜かれ放心状態になり、
２曲目では、ボトルネック奏法で自分がイルカになった気持ちになり、
３曲目では、やっと簡単にコピーできそうと思いきやオクターブ奏法でつまづいた記憶があります。

次の曲からは、ストレスフリーでＢＧＭで聞き流せます。
