   70年代半ば、ロックミュージックの世界ですらビジネス志向が強くなってきた。ディランはそのアンチテーゼを提唱するかのように、「ローリング・サンダー・レヴュー」なる流動的で自由な雰囲気のツアーを決行する。このアルバムは、そのツアーの一環として行われたコロラドとテキサスのコンサートでの演奏を収録したライヴ盤だ。
   曲ごとに参加メンバーも違うし、演奏自体もラフでフリーなムードの曲がほとんどである。だが、当時まき起こっていたパンクムーヴメントの連中と同じぐらいに、ロックの本質をついている。（星野吉男）

アメリカ建国200年を迎えて,ディランは,1975年秋から約半年かけてローリング・サンダー・レビュー・ツアーを行なった。予定調和をすべて排除したことでこのツアーは話題になったが,9のエネルギッシュな演奏がそのときの充実感を伝えてくれる。

ＣＤでは最後の「ＩＤＩＯＴ　ＷＩＮＤ」の、かなり早い段階でプレシジョンベースの第３弦が切れてしまい、チューニングも狂った状態で、それでも最後まで弾き終わったロブ・ストーナーは、ライブ後、ベースラインをオーバーダブしたはず。これこそ、災い転じて、の最たるものでしょう。繰り返されるにつれ、複雑さと緊張感を増すベースライン。何度それを追いかけて聴いても、飽きません。この１曲だけでも、一生楽しめます。

１曲目でブッとびます！ディランのライブ盤はいずれもよいのですが、これはさしずめハードロックといっても過言ではない迫力です！曲も大作、愚かな風が入ってるし。これぞアメリカンロック最高峰のライブだと思います。まさに究極！ブートレッグシリーズのＬＩＶＥ１９７５をあわせて聴けば完璧。ローリングサンダーレヴューの全貌を知ることができます。ロック史上屈指のライブ盤！

あまりにも有名な、ローリング・サンダー・レビューからのLive。まるで話を知っていても演者によってがらっと面白みさが変わってしまう落語のように、あるいはJazz演奏者によって同じスタンダード曲でも受ける印象が全く違ってしまうように、DylanのLive盤はどれも自分の曲をどう料理するかに注目してしまいますが、このLiveは格別。特にOne too many mornings, Lay lady lay, Shelter from the stormなどは一度このLiveを聴くとこちらのアレンジの方が耳にこびりついて離れなくなってしまうこと請け合いです。このLive盤で唯一残念なのが、音質が万全でないこと。しかし、そんなことはどうでもいいという気持ちにさせてくれるほど、ここでのDylanの演奏はパワフルで痛快です。
