トミー・ボーリンの生涯で最後のアルバム。楽曲はスバラシイの一言！だが、しかし、精彩さを欠いた消化不良のギター・ワークがなんとも残念だ。往年の指癖フレーズでさえも、もつれてしまっている。これも例のクスリの悪影響なのか？しかし、ストラトのトーンは実にイイ音出してます。トミーのストラトの音色はヴィンテージを使用しながらも枯れた所は全くなく、むしろとてもモダンなストラト・サウンドに聞こえますが、これはトミーが他の同世代のギタリストに多い、過剰にブルースを強調したオーバープレイが少ない洗練された音選びをするからでしょうか。でも、トミーの実力を知っている人にはなんとも早過ぎる”レイド・バック”サウンド。

あのリッチー・ブラックモアの後任としてディープ・パープルのギタリストを務めたのがこのトミー・ボーリンだ。リッチーが速弾きギタリストとして縦横無尽なプレイを展開していたのに対し、このトミーはブルーズをベースに独特の“間”を駆使した、味わいのあるプレイを聴かせていた。確かにリッチーほどのテクニックはなかったかもしれないが、ウラのリズムをおもしろいように操りながら明快なソロを弾くトミーのギターは、万人ウケする要素を持っていたと思う。不思議な事に、あのチャーのソロ展開に似たフレーズが多く、このアルバムでは1などがまさにその典型だ。「このコード進行ならチャーはこう弾くだろうな」と思っているとズバリそのフレーズが出てくる…というほど似ている。全体的にはハードロックという印象は希薄なので、ヘビーサウンドを期待してこのアルバムを聴くと物足りなさが残るかもしれない。しかしトミーの暖かさのようなものを感じるアルバムとして、この作品は決して悪い仕上がりではないと思う。ギタリストとして大いに期待していただけに、ヘロイン中毒で他界してしまったのは大変残念だった。また、致し方ない事かもしれないが、常にリッチーという“亡霊”にまとわり付かれた悲運のギタリストだった事も、ファンとしては悔やまれるところだ。

ソロアルバム２作目。前作よりもおとなしめの曲が多いですが
ソウルフルな楽曲の中で、やさしく歌う彼の声に思わず聞き惚れて
しまいます。音はあんまり良くないですが（ドンシャリっぽい）
ちなみに6ではカーマイン・アピスがドラムを叩いています。
