20以上も前、まだ若かりし頃(笑、このアルバムは死ぬほど聴いた。
もちろん、レコードで。
月日は経ち、CDなるものがこの世に現われ、
昔よく聴いたレコードを改めて購入し、聴き返すという機会が与えられることとなった。

『Full Sail』……ものすごく久しぶりに聴いてみた。ほんとうによかった。

優しく、美しく、楽しい、そして、フレンドリーな、なんというすばらしい世界だろうかと思う。
かつてあんなに聴きこんだアルバムであるに関わらず、
いまだに少しも色褪せることなく、青い海と空の輝きの中で、
幸福感と感動を与えてくれる。

ロギメナのアルバムは全てが極上のものだが、
その中でもこの『Full Sail』こそ、究極なのではないだろうか。

この作品はあらゆるアルバムの中でも最高と言ってもいいものであり、
これを気に入らないという人は、ほとんどいないと思われる。
聴かずは損とはこういう作品のことだ。
昔、洋楽などほとんど聴いたことのなかったような人も、
私からたくさんのレコードを借りて、一番気に入り、ひどく感動していたのがこの作品だ。
それくらい親しみやすい作品でもある。

国内盤での再発を切に望む。

ポップで親しみやすいケニー・ロギンスの資質と、ロックンロール、カントリー、ラテンを初めとしてエスニックな方向性を模索していたジム・メッシーナの方向性が、一番よい形で結びついた中期の傑作アルバム。

どの曲も最高の仕上がり。演奏（コーラスハーモニーにも注目）もすばらしい。そしてジャケット・デザインをも含めたアルバムコンセプトの確かさ。どれをとっても最高です。

CD屋で偶然見つけて買ったアルバムの1つです。

そこまで期待していなかったと思います。
でも、聴いた途端にこれは『良い』と思いました。
まず1曲目の出だしがフルートなのもなかなかです。
全体的に多彩な楽器を使っていて、
それでいて、歌を邪魔していないのがこのアルバムの魅力でしょう。

この後彼らはソロでAORっぽい曲調になっていくようですが、

その後々とは違い、アコースティックで、
多彩な音作りをしつつも、
あくまで『ポップ』だって所が好きです。

また、ギターなんかはやっぱり70年代らしいなぁとか、
時代との関連もそれなりにあるかなと思います。
楽な気持ちで聴きたい。懐かしい気持ちで聴きたい。
出来れば安価で…。って方にはお勧めできると思います。

ただし、歌詞がないうえ、

あまりLOGGINS&MESSINAのこのアルバムの歌詞は、
外国のサイトにも載っていない様なので、
歌詞が見たい方にはマイナス部分かもしれません。
