紙ジャケにはさほど積極的ではないのですが、２００７年リマスターの文字に引かれてとりあえずファーストだけ購入しました。ライナーが刷新され新しい写真なども掲載されているのでそれなりには満足しているのですが、いかんせん２曲目の「ビリーズ・ブルース」の高音でローラの声が割れて聞こえるのはマスターに起因する等ののっぴきならない理由があっていかんともし難いのでしょうか。「ゴナ・テイク・ア・ミラクル」の表題作における同様の割れはリマスターで解消されていたので、「もしや」と思って発売日にタワーレコードに走ったのですが、実に残念なことです。ボーナス・トラックが加えられていなかったことと、４枚すべて購入した人への特典が「ニューヨーク・テンダベリー」の別ジャケというのも個人的にはファーストのヴァーヴ盤のジャケットのほうがよかったのではないか(ソニーにはソニーの意地もあるでしょうが)という提言も最後に申し添えておきます。

私がローラ・ニーロを知ったのは、海外ドラマ「アリー・マイ・ラブ」でした。すごく感動的なシーンで聖歌隊が歌った曲がすごく気になって、調べたらローラの歌でした。もちろん本人が歌っている方が断然良かった！古いアルバムですが、その当時売れなかったのが信じられないくらい良いアルバムです。今でもＣＤショップで並んでる他のアーティストのＣＤ紹介で"ローラのような・・・"と書かれている程、神様的な存在です。
