このアルバムを初めて聴いたのは大学生の頃。 お金がないけど買っちゃったステレオで初めて かけたのが、このＬＰだった。 　田舎から都会に出てきて、うまく人間関係が 築けずに悩み、いろんなことを試していた。 　バイトも３０種類。深夜のものから、塾講師や 試験監督、喫茶店のボーイ。でも何故か収まりが 悪く、僕の探していたものはこれではないと思い 悩み。。。 　ある日、思い切って買ったステレオが配達されて きた日、近くのレンタルショップで借りてきたのが このＬＰで、忘れもしない。 　ソルティドックを気取って、部屋の明かりを間接照明 だけにしてステレオから流れる曲に、涙しました。 　Carry On　とにかく続けな！と言われる。 　思った通りの人生なんかにならないけど、続けること 　が大事さ、と言う。 　そんな人生の１ページの音楽です。 ９７年に外国に駐在中に、ふと入ったＣＤショップで 偶然見つけ思わず買いました。

デビュー作「What You Won't Do For Love」から2作目「Cat In The Hat」、そしてこの3作目の「Carry On」までがいわゆるAORを代表するミュージシャンとしてのBobby Caldwellの黄金期であり、どれもすばらしいAORアルバムです。特にこの3作目はここち良いだけではなく、詞に深み・重みが増し、音の作り込みにも相当こだわった名作です。Bobby自身も非常に満足した仕上がりだと当時のインタビューに応えていました。次の4作目で売れ線を狙ったロックよりのアルバムを作り（「Never Loved Before」は名曲！）、その後長いブランクがあり、いつのまにかビッグバンドジャズやオールディーズをやるようになってしまいました。
AORが好きな方やデビュー作~3作目までにお気に入りの曲（最近のAORコンピ盤によく収録されている）がある方は、それが含まれているベスト盤など買わずにオリジナル盤の購入を強くお勧めします。ベスト盤はAORの名曲の中にあまったるいジャズやスタンダードナンバーなどが紛れ込み、テキトーに並べているだけの「商品」です。

1982年発表。ポリドール移籍の第一作、彼のサード・アルバム。バック・ミュージシャンにTOTOのメンバーを迎え、スタジオもマイアミからロスへ移って録音されている。邦題『シーサイド・センチメンタル』。
『オール・オブ・マイ・ラブ』・『サニー・ヒルズ』・『ラビイン・ユー』の3曲が特に傑作。というか、ボビー節が完成したアルバムといえるだろう。

僕はこの作品から1993年の『Where Is Love』までのボビー・コールドウエルが大好きである。逆に言えば、その後のボビーはきらいということでもあるのだが・・・。ボビーは徐々にジャズ・シンガーに路線を変えていくのだがやっぱりAORな雰囲気いっぱいな頃のボビーにとどめをさすというのが、大方のリスナーの意見ではと思う。

ジャケットも曲もオシャレ!
