1stアルバム”Ｇ”。Nirvana等のプロデューサーで知られるブッチ・ヴィグがバンド結成ときたならば、誰もが粋なグランジを予想したのだろうが、結果はブルースのようで王道ＵＫロックのようなメロディラインを、なんとデジタルバンドサウンド化してしまったわけで、さすがはオルタナの帝王!、ってことで拍手喝采。しかし、これは決してテクノとかユーロビートとかトランスではない。バンドスタイルを、より過剰にダイナミックに仕立て上げる独自のスタイルなのである。それでいて、シャーリーのハスキーヴォーカル、音に溶け込むヴォーカル、時に太く伸びるヴォーカルが加わるのだから鉄壁音圧である。それに加えて、メロディラインの美しさ、そして唯一無二の完成度を誇るのだから向かうところ敵無しであったのだ。これぞ、オルタナ！

名曲”オンリー・ハッピー・ウェン・イット・レインズ”、”ヴァウ”、”フィックス・ミー・ナウ”、収録。そして、"AL1曲目"界、世紀の衝撃度NO.1の"スーパーヴィクセン"必聴。

ヴォーカル シャーリーの気怠い歌声がブラックな気分にさせてくれる。
この後に出てる曲の方が洗練されてるけど、他の音楽に染まってない個性の強さと、勢いある感じが好い。
荒削りなとこも私的にオッケー。

いま１０年ぶりに聴いてみると結構ダビーでポップで気だるい感じがトリップホップぽい　
お薦めの曲は1 7 8 11
