このアルバムはoffspringの中で１番好きです。特にBad HabitやCome Out And Playは最高だと思います。全部いい曲ばかりなので絶対買ったほうがいいと思います。

　Offspringの代表作。このころの彼らの作品は、最近のものに比べ、暗く、重い。しかしそれでいてノリがよく、メロディアスなので、まさにメロコアと呼ぶにふさわしい。…「メロコアを知りたきゃこれを聴け！」って感じ…？
ファンの間でも人気が高い。ただGreen DayやSum41などが好きな人にとってはちょっととっつきにくい…というかなじめないかも。そういう人はAmericanaやConspiracy Of Oneがオススメ。
このSmashが素晴らしい作品であることは間違いないので、ぜひ買って何度も聴いてみて欲しい。

まず、ただポップで明るい陽気な疾走パンクを聴きたいなら、オフスプじゃなくてもいい。
オフスプはポップパンクに属するとは思うが、一癖も二癖もある。
それは悪い意味ではなく、バカで陽気な中にも賢さが光っているのである。
激しいが繊細であり、明るいが陰鬱さもあり、疾走するが落ち着いている。
特にこのアルバムは独特なメロディが全快である（後の作品に比べても）。
ただ反骨心バリバリの言葉をまき散らすのではなく、語呂が良く歌っていて気持ちが良い。
ギターもベースも、特にこのバンドはコーラスが最大の武器であろう。
少なくとも自分の中では、これは名盤である。
