インギーが前作で大ヒットを飛ばしながらも、自分より目立つジョーが許せなかったのでしょうか、
僅かアルバム１枚で喧嘩別れ。その後母国スウェーデンから自分のジャイアニズムを受け入れる面子を揃え、北欧メタル特有の透明感溢れる楽曲を武器にリリースされたのが5thアルバムである本作です。
本作はファンの間では評価は高いものの、セールス的には大コケだったり(^_^;)
インギー曰く「レコード会社が悪い！」とか。流石ですw

#1.「Making Love」#2.「Bedroom Eyes」
冒頭の２曲は嫌いな人も多いですが、私は嫌いではないです。
ミドルテンポからのポップ路線の曲で、バラエティ感を出すのに一役買ってくれています。まぁ、何もトップに持ってくることはないと思いましたが(^_^;)

#3.「Save Our Love」はヨラン・エドマンの透明感溢れるハイトーン・ヴォイスがこれでもか、と際立つ極上バラード。間違いなく本作のハイライトでしょう。正直ヨランの声は細すぎて野太いインギーのサウンドに押され気味な感がありますが、この曲ではそれが吉と出ています。PVが若干安っぽいですが、これは時代の所為ですから大目に見てやって下さいw

#4.「Motherless Child」は本作のキラー・チューン。本作の価値はこの曲の評価如何で変わりますが、インギーの過去のキラー・チューンが気に入っている方には間違いなくお気に召して頂けるかと思います。前述の通りヨランの線の細いVoが気になるものの、それを遥かにすっ飛ばす疾走感と極上の歌メロは必聴モノですよ！

他にも
#6.「Judas」
#8.「Demon Driver」
#11.「Eclipse [Instrumental] 」
等の佳曲が目白押しですので、本作を聴くのなら押さえておきたい所です。
本作は流麗と言えば聞こえが良いですが、パワー感がやや不足していることも事実ですので、この辺でヘヴィ感を補っていますね。

また本商品は素材にSHM-CDを使用し2007年版の24bitリマスター仕様です。
元々不満のない音質でしたが、更なる向上が期待出来るかもしれません（技術的に未知数な為断定は出来ない）
本商品と同時発売する筈だった新譜の発売延期が続いていますが、事前のおさらいに如何でしょうか（ '∀｀ ）

リマスターされているので、音が格段に良くなっています。また、紙ジャケットですが、質も良くイングヴェイの写真が綺麗に写っています。楽曲の素晴らしさは変わりません。Motherless Childが人気のようですが、私はFaultlineが好きです。隠れ名曲だと思います。

一時期（ある意味で現在でも）速弾きの代名詞であったギタリスト、イングヴェイ・マルムスティーンのアルバムです．クラシカルなヘヴィ・メタルの一つの型を作り上げた人物でもあり、イングヴェィに影響されたギタリストやバンドは数え切れないほど存在すると思います。

それまで長年共に活動してきたアンダース兄弟などのメンバーと別れて製作したアルバムです．ヴォーカルのヨラン・エドマン、それまでと比較しても曲、サウンド共に北欧の透明な世界が描かれているような、良い意味でも悪い意味でもくせがなく、流れるような展開が多いアルバムだと思います．

このようなことから、「特色がないアルバム」というありがたくない評価を受けることもありますが、ぜひ一度聞いてみてください．アルバム全体の評価としては個人的にはトップクラスの一枚だと考えています．音作りや曲のレベルはこれまでと比べても向上していますし、ヨランのヴォーカルはこのアルバムではとても良いと思います．ただ、やはりイングヴェイ独特の個性があまり感じられなかったということと評価が高くない原因なのかもしれません．でも、次の「ファイアーアンドアイス」アルバムがチャートで一番になったのも、結局はこのアルバムが良かったからこそこのような高い評価を得ることができたのではないでしょうか．他の人の評価に惑わされず、アルバムを聞いてください．
