リドリースコットの"ブレードランナー"のあの鮮烈なイメージが、これを聴くと頭の中にクリアに蘇ります。"炎のランナー"。これも印象的なメロディで、例の浜辺を走っているシーンが聴いているとすぅ~っと浮かんできます。そして、メルギブソンのあまり知られてはいないが非常に印象的だった映画"バウンティ"のテーマ曲。これも夢に出てきそうなほど強烈なインパクト。だが、何と言っても注目は、ブレードランナー関連の１と８と１１でしょう。"Memories of Green"は確か、もともとは、あの映画のために作った曲ではなかったように記憶していますが、見事にブレードランナーのイメージを作っていましたよね。全体的にインパクトが強く、イマジネーションが膨らむサウンド。

炎のランナーはおそらくほとんどの人が聞いたことがあるであろう名曲だ。初めて聞いたときには驚いたものだ。
ヴァンゲリスは最近あったW杯のアンセムを担当したことでも有名。
詳しくはよくわからないがさまざまな映画の音楽を担当していたようで、このCDはそのテーマ曲集(要するにベスト)だ。
ほしい。

そうそうそうなんです。このアルバムを聴くとあなたも絶対にそう思いますよ。ギリシャ出身だからじゃなくて。個を確立させる土壌がないとでませんよ。こういうひとは。

でなんでこのアルバムがすごいかって。そりゃ~~~さ。映像を鋭く喚起できるメロディーやアレンジ能力ですよ。それもかなり卓越しています。個性もきちんとあってね。いやし系なんてそんなちゃちなもんじゃありません。もっと練られた高級なものですよ。

メロディーに深い感動があるわけですよ。テクニックでひかせる日本のピアノの教えかたでは、こんなのができるわけがない。

日本の音楽教育がお粗末だからね。コピーばかりしてたら。抜けだせないよね。ヴァンゲリスはその点。すぐれている。感動が音楽を突き動かしている。感動していない音楽をひけるわけがない。

ここでしょう。日本の致命的なとこは。中国の音楽に対して感動してインスパイヤーされているからこういう感動できるものができるんだと思う。シンセの音色の選び方も天才的であり。

日本は優れたシンセサイザーは開発するけれども、優れたシンセサイザー奏者は開発していない。キタロウは例外です。

感動の証しとしての映像のための音楽＝映像音楽家としての揺るがない地位はここから来ていると思います。あとはパーカッションの使い方が異様にうまいです。
