余分な贅肉を一切そぎ落とした、しかし十分にクラプトンの良さを
堪能できる素晴らしい選曲。クラプトン70年代の全アルバムを聴き
とおしてみた今、改めてこのアルバムの選曲の素晴らしさに驚いて
います。クラプトンのベスト盤には趣旨のあいまいなものが多いの
で、なおさらそう感じます。

もちろんこのベスト盤でクラプトンの全てが分かるとは思いません
が、とっかかりとしては最適です。それにしても全体を通してレゲ
エ・ヴァイヴに溢れた構成で、クラプトンのレゲエへの傾倒ぶりを
実感します。

初心者にもいい、玄人にもいい。それがこのベスト盤。

クラプトンがPolydor/Universal Internationalに所属していた頃の音源ベスト盤です。Warner盤には収録されていないライブのスタンダードナンバーである''I Shot The Sheriff''、''Layla''、''Wonderful Tonight''、''Cocaine''等を聴くことが出来ます。クラプトンをはじめて聴く方にはWarner盤と合わせて聴くことをお勧めします。

ガンガン飛ばすドライヴなら絶対これがおすすめ!男くさいというか、躍動感のある音がアクセルを深く踏み込ませてくれます。150キロくらいでひとりでハンドル握るなら迷わずこれしかないでしょう。特にコケイン！だと軽く180はいけます。ははは。
