名盤"Layla"リリース後のライブをCD２枚目一杯に収録した好盤。
がっしりと組まれたリズム隊をバックに存分にギターを弾きまくる感じが生きいきと伝わってきます。
聞きものの一つは"Little wing"。言わずと知れたJimi Henの名曲、"Layla"にも収められていますが、本ライブでは"Layla"収録バージョンをベースにしながらも、しばしばJimiのplayを彷彿とさせるリフも顔を出す情感あふれるもの。Jimiが米国breakする前から親交のあるClaptonにとっても強い思い入れがあるに違いなく、心に沁みるソロです。
他にオリジナルからテンポを落として10分以上にスケールアップさせた"Why does love..."の充実したplay、Blind Faith時代の"Presence of the Lord"（オリジナルのSteve Winwoodとはまた味わいの違うClaptonのヴォーカルもしみじみきますね）もこれまたいい出来。
彼のベストの常連曲がセレクトされていないせいか、いまいち知名度の低いこのライブですが、Claptonのギターがすきな方にはまず支持されるであろう隠れた逸品であることはまちがいありません。

イン　コンサ-トを高校生の時から　ずっと聴いていました。このインコンサ-トの１曲目の　恋は悲しきもの　のギタ-ソロは　これまで公式に発表されているライブの全曲の中では　どのソロより　ベストではないでしょうか?　この再発CDのソロも　またベストテイクです。アンソロジ-2のサンタナとのジョイントの単調で長いだけのバ-ジョンとは　雲泥の差と言ってしまってよいかな?　どの曲も　ボ-カルは最初に少し、後は　ギタ-ソロの応酬、同じギタ-フレ-ズがでてこない。この頃のクラプトンは　ステ-ジにあがるまえに楽屋でかなり　きめてからのぞんではないのかな。テル．ザ．トル-スでは、途中でレギュラ-チュ-ニングのまま　スライドを聞かせてくれます。これが　かっこいい。しかし、ギタ-はすごいけど、ボ-カルは　うわずっていて高音はなんとか出しているようです。でも若いからいい。現在のようにボ-カリストではないけど、私はこの時代のクラブトンは何回聞いても飽きないです。

デレク＆ドミノスのフィルモアライブであります。正直言って８０年代にロックに目覚めた私の世代ではクラプトンは余裕のブルースナンバーとその後のアンプラグドの演奏が記憶に新しいのですが、このフィルモアライブを聞いてぶっ飛びました、ワウペダルの使い手として有名な神様ですが実際聞いてみると当時ここまで変幻自在な演奏をしていたとは驚きです。まだ歌い始めたちょっと弱いクラプトンの歌と強力な演奏が非常に心地よく最後まで続き飽きさせません、やはり彼は特別なギタリストだと再確認できます。さらにドミノスのメンバーの演奏も新しい音楽を作ろうとする姿勢が感じられ素晴らしいです。ハードロックだけがロックではありません、このアルバムは７０年代の幕開けの傑作です。
