ティアーズ・フォー・フィアーズがローランド一人になって活動をはじめてからの初のアルバム。この都会的に洗練された硬質な音は、デビュー当時からその片鱗をうかがわせていたとはいえ、やはり驚きであり、周囲の「未完」や「打ちひしがれた」などの評価とは裏腹に、TFFのひとつの完成形であるといえるのではないだろうか。ローランドの書く詞は、シャープな映像を眼前に展開させるような輝きと明晰さを持ちながらも、彼の内省的思惟をプリズムのように映し出しており、音を限りなく深化させている。TFF独自の世界、いやむしろ宇宙と表現したほうが妥当ともいえる広大な音はここでも十全に発揮されている。当時カートとの確執もあったろうが、本盤に虚心に耳を傾ければ、決して怨嗟や冷笑だけではない、ローランドの音楽に対する真摯な姿勢が見えてくる。TFFの磨き上げられた音に一度でも魅せらた人なら、本盤の至高の音にまたも魅了されるに違いない。

バンド分裂したが名前はそのまま続行で出したアルバム。オーザバルのソロプロジェクトになっており、サウンドはソウルフルなアダルトコンテンポラリーサウンドを志向している。やはり売り上げにはうまく結びつかず。楽曲がやや低調かも。１０点中５点
