Product Description

From Amazon.co.uk

For a movie that really needed help convincing of its own strength, kicking out a powerful score by a name like Elmer Bernstein was a weird move. Replacing Bernstein's effort by a smothering Ry Cooder score, twanging and wafting over the desert was weirder yet. Although you never get to know what was in the minds of those who veto these things, you can for once enjoy what was almost lost. "To Jericho" looks to the danger ahead with an explosive entrance for Bruce Willis's man with no name. It alternates between a ticking timebomb passage of travelogue and shotgun bursts of brass. In contrast, there's the springing step of "Felina's Story", which is almost cartoon-like in places with its saloon piano. There's a lot of energy in this short disc (try "Free"). Of course it's pointless speculating what might have been, but although Bernstein was "inspired by the film", there's no reason for you to feel inspired to watch it. --Paul Tonks
